Born on July 7, 1938, in the welcoming town of Mansfield, Louisiana, Josie was the cherished daughter of Harry Mims and Fanny Perry. Throughout her 88 years, Josie touched the lives of everyone she met with her vibrant spirit and infectious laughter. She was an active member of the Greater Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where her faith and commitment to her community were evident in every gathering and service. Her presence brought warmth and joy to the congregation, making a profound impact on those around her. Josie's family was the cornerstone of her life. She was the devoted mother to her surviving children: daughters Mary Booker and Cassada Williams, and sons Barry Booker and Donny Ray Booker. Her heart was full and her hands always busy as she nurtured and guided her beloved family. Josie was also the proud grandmother of 21 grandchildren, each of whom felt the depth of her love and the strength of her character. She was predeceased by her sons, Gregory Booker and Bobby Mims, and her grandson, Elijah Robinson. Though their absence was deeply felt, Josie's love for them remained as vibrant as ever, and their memories continued to bring comfort and joy to her heart. Josie's legacy is one of laughter, resilience, and a deep-rooted love for her family and faith. She leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will be cherished by all who knew her. Her indomitable spirit will forever inspire those she leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Josie's memory to the Greater Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where her spirit will continue to encourage and uplift the lives of many.
