The world lost a gentle soul and a beloved member of the community on June 28, 2026, when Joshua Williams Jr. peacefully departed from this life at the age of 60. Born on August 16, 1965, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Joshua was a beacon of light to all who knew him, embodying love, dedication, and resilience throughout his life. Joshua was the cherished son of Joshua Williams Sr. and Mary Williams, who survive him and remember him as a dutiful son who brought immeasurable joy into their lives. Growing up in Shreveport, Joshua was deeply rooted in family values, a trait he carried into adulthood and passed on to his own family. In life, Joshua shared a blessed union with his devoted wife, Wanda Brooke. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and laughter. Wanda remembers Joshua as a loving partner whose kindness and strength were the foundation of their life together. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, creating a sanctuary for their family. Joshua's legacy is carried forward by his three children: Marcelleus Smith, Lacamara Smith, and Jada Williams. As a father, Joshua was a guiding light, always ready with a word of wisdom or a comforting embrace. His children admire him for his integrity and the life lessons he imparted, lessons that they will treasure and pass on to future generations. In his professional life, Joshua was a dedicated contractor, a career he pursued with passion and skill. Known for his hard work and dependability, he left a lasting impact on those he worked with, earning respect and admiration throughout his career. Joshua was also a loving grandfather to two cherished grandchildren, who brought boundless joy and pride into his life. He adored spending time with them, creating memories they will forever hold dear. Though Joshua has left this earthly realm, his spirit remains alive in the hearts of his extensive family, including many siblings who carry his memory forward. His family finds solace in the special message they share: "Gone from sight, but never from my heart." In accordance with Joshua's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his life and legacy. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of Joshua's choice, ensuring his spirit of giving continues to touch lives. Though we mourn the loss of Joshua Williams Jr., we celebrate a life well-lived, a life that enriched those around him. His legacy of love, hard work, and compassion will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
