It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joshua McMillon, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who departed this world peacefully on May 18, 2026, at the age of 60 after a courageous five-year battle with lung cancer. Born on January 4, 1966, in Augusta, Georgia, Joshua was a beacon of strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit throughout his life.
Joshua was the cherished son of Micheal and Cecilia McMillon, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his dear siblings, George McMillon and Harriet McMillon Grace. He is survived by his loving brothers, Robert McMillon and Glenn McMillon, who together shared many cherished memories and an unbreakable bond.
In 1981, Joshua graduated from Laney High School, where he was known for his warmth, intelligence, and genuine kindness that would continue to define his character throughout his life. On August 1, 1989, he married his soulmate, Joanna Kellom. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, filled with laughter and a shared commitment to family and friends. Together, they created a home that was a sanctuary of love, support, and cherished moments.
Joshua was a devoted husband, a loving family man, and a loyal friend. He was blessed with two grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. His family was his greatest pride, and his love for them was boundless and unconditional.
Throughout his life, Joshua touched countless hearts with his generosity and wisdom. He had an extraordinary gift for bringing comfort and encouragement to those around him, even during his own struggles. His kind heart and warm spirit left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. Joshua’s legacy is one of compassion, strength, and an enduring love that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A celebration of Joshua’s life will take place on May 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Premier Funeral Home, located at 1540 West Grand Blvd. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Joshua are invited to honor his memory and celebrate the remarkable life he led.
Though Joshua’s earthly journey has ended, his love and spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Joanna, his surviving family members, and all whose lives were enriched by his presence. His courageous spirit and unwavering love will continue to be a guiding light to those he leaves behind.
