In Loving Memory

Joshua Leiva Garcia
May 28, 2001 — January 12, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joshua Leiva Garcia on January 12, 2025, after a courageous battle with vasculitis. Joshua, affectionately known to his loved ones as Josh, was born on May 28, 2001, in the picturesque town of St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, a place he always called home.
Josh was the beloved son of his devoted parents, Ico Chub Garcia and Intentions Spanish Remix. From a young age, Josh was known for his vibrant spirit and infectious laughter, qualities that endeared him to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His family remembers him as a kind-hearted individual with an unparalleled sense of humor, often delighting those around him with his clever references to "Scarface" and "The Sopranos." These beloved shows were more than just entertainment to Josh; they were a source of inspiration and joy throughout his life.
Josh attended community college in St. Catharines, where he explored various interests. Though he faced challenges during his academic journey, he remained unfailingly optimistic and determined to carve out a path that was uniquely his own. This determination led him to a career as a help desk engineer within an IT department. Josh took great pride in his work, always eager to assist others with their technical challenges. Although his tenure in this role was cut short, his colleagues remember him for his innovative problem-solving skills and his genuine willingness to help.
Despite the obstacles he faced, including his struggle with alcohol, Josh's resilience and strength were a testament to his enduring spirit. He continued to seek support and aspired to create a brighter future for himself and those he held dear.
Josh's life was a tapestry of moments filled with love, laughter, and the companionship of family and friends. His memory will be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
In honoring Josh's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate his life. The family requests privacy during this difficult time and appreciates the outpouring of love and support from their community.
As we say goodbye to our dear Josh, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and the lessons he taught us about resilience, humor, and the importance of cherishing every moment. May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to be made in Josh's memory to organizations dedicated to the research and treatment of vasculitis, in hopes of helping others who face this challenging condition.
