October 22, 1978 — March 20, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and a sense of bewildering loss that we announce the passing of Joshua C. Walls, who left this world far too soon on March 20, 2026, at the age of 47. Joshua was born on October 22, 1978, in Dayton, Ohio, to Daniel Walls and Judith Howland-Roe. His untimely departure occurred during an adventurous white-water rafting trip, where a rock-climbing endeavor was unexpectedly curtailed by an allergic reaction to a bee sting. Joshua's life was a testament to the joy of living beyond societal expectations. While he never managed to graduate high school, he was a graduate of life's school of humor and mischief. Those who knew him recall his unique ability to bring laughter and levity, even in the most unexpected moments. Though his work ethic was never his defining trait, Joshua found fulfillment in pursuits that were uniquely his own, with a career in creating smiles through his unconventional hobbies. Joshua's artistic side was often displayed in the most unexpected places, from bathroom stall canvases to the phone lines of unsuspecting counselors. His creativity knew no bounds, and his legacy includes his humorous pranks and his unfailing ability to make people chuckle at life's absurdities. In his leisure time, Joshua enjoyed fishing in aquariums, a testament to his playful spirit and unorthodox approach to life. While Joshua never married, he shared a profound and enduring bond with Denise Finsley, a loving woman who had the good sense to cherish him without formalizing their relationship. His children, Collin and Nora, were the lights of his life, embodying the best of him in their laughter and spirit. He is also survived by his sister Jennifer and brother Alex, who remember him fondly and with a smile. Joshua's military service was humorously limited to the Cub Scouts, but his courage and adventurous spirit were evident in how he faced life's challenges. Though he never achieved the ambition he dreamed of, he inspired ambition in others with his zest for life and his ability to infuse humor into every situation. A service to celebrate Joshua's life will be held on March 27, 2026, at 4:20 PM in the cozy comfort of Christopher's basement. It will be an occasion to share memories, laughter, and to honor a man who, in his unique way, touched the lives of those around him. Though Joshua was, by his own admission, a terrible boyfriend and a less-than-stellar liver, he was loved deeply by those who appreciated his quirky charm and his heart of gold. As we gather to bid farewell, we remember Joshua as a man who, despite his flaws, brought joy and laughter to the world. May he rest in peace, forever remembered with a smile.
