In Loving Memory

Joshua C. Mazzie
March 9, 2004 — May 8, 2026
It is with profound sorrow and endless love that we announce the passing of Joshua C. Mazzie, a beloved son, brother, and friend, on May 8, 2026. Born on March 9, 2004, in Winchester, Virginia, Joshua graced the world with his presence, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, wit, and unwavering love that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Joshua was the cherished son of Stephen and Jamey Mazzie and the adoring brother of Tyler Mazzie. His life was a tapestry woven with the love and support of his family, including his grandmother Diana J. Lasota and grandparents Frank and Lynda Mazzie. Though he is preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert E. Lasota Sr., Joshua now joins him in eternal rest. His extended family, which includes numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends, mourns his loss deeply.
From a young age, Joshua exhibited an incredible intellect that set him apart. His sharp wit and sarcastic sense of humor were hallmarks of his personality, often bringing laughter and joy to those around him. Beneath this humor, Josh possessed a deeply loving heart, one that cared fiercely and unwaveringly for his family, friends, and his cherished canine companions, Reese and Toby.
Joshua's spirit was unforgettable, and his loyalty was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence will be missed every single day, but his spirit will continue to inspire and warm the hearts of those who loved him.
A Mass to celebrate Joshua's life will be held on May 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Therese Catholic Church, located at 217 Brawley School Rd. The service will also be available via livestream at St. Therese Mass Livestream.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Joshua's name to the ASPCA, an organization close to his heart. Donations can be made at ASPCA Donations.
Following the Mass, there will be a short reception for personal condolences to the family at The Venues at Langtree, 554 Langtree Road, Mooresville, NC 28117, from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM.
Joshua's family extends their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. May his memory be a blessing, and may his spirit find peace.
