Josephine Wallace Johnson, affectionately known as "Duck," was born on April 2, 1963, in the serene town of Swan Lake, Mississippi. On September 8, 2026, she peacefully departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born to Beulah Wallace and BJ Wallace, Josephine was surrounded by a loving family that included her siblings and extended relatives. She was predeceased by her dear family members JC Wallace, Beatice Shoemaker, Mevin Brewer, Ella Ellis, and Kem Brewer, all of whom she held close to her heart. Josephine's life was illuminated by her marriage to Harold Johnson. Their union, lasting 18 years, was a testament to the strength of their love and commitment. Together, they created a haven of warmth and joy, making unforgettable memories with their grandchildren and sharing countless moments of laughter and happiness. Josephine's heart was full with the love of her children: Jeffrey Wallace, Marie Cleo Wallace, Xavier Wallace, and Brandie Latasha, as well as her 13 beloved grandchildren. A graduate of Job Corps in 1981, Josephine's journey through life was marked by her dedication and hard work. Her early years were spent working alongside her mother in Mississippi, where she honed her skills and built a foundation for her future endeavors. Later, she contributed to the community by working at Spin Cycle during its inception, where her vibrant spirit and infectious laughter made her a cherished colleague and friend. Josephine was a woman of many talents and passions. Her love for cooking and dancing was well known, and her ability to make people laugh was a gift she shared generously with all who knew her. Whether she was hosting lively cookouts, dancing with her special friends and nieces, or simply enjoying the music she adored, Josephine's zest for life was palpable. Her laughter, unmistakable and contagious, filled the room with joy and warmth. The funeral service to honor Josephine's extraordinary life will be held on September 20, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Brocks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Josephine's memory, celebrating her generous and compassionate spirit. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joins them in celebrating Josephine's life. A special thank you goes to her devoted husband, Harold, for keeping his promise to stand by her side until the very end. To all who have given from their hearts, your kindness is deeply appreciated.
