Josephine Marquez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Josephine Marquez, a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, who left this world peacefully at her home on November 1, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on May 16, 1948, in Boone, Colorado, Josephine was the cherished daughter of Sara E. Martinez and Adolph "Lefty" Martinez. Josephine was a devoted wife to Ralph M. Marquez, whom she married on October 29, 1968, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Denver, Colorado. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to love and commitment, spanning an incredible 58 years. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Ralph Marquez Jr., Cathy Marquez, and Joseph Marquez, who were the pride and joy of her life. A proud graduate of Pueblo High School, Josephine was a woman of many talents and a heart full of love. She was known for her quick wit, infectious smile, and unwavering dedication to her family. Josephine's warmth and humor were a beacon of light to all who knew her, and she had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel loved and valued. Josephine was passionate about spending time with her family and friends, and she found great joy in playing and coaching softball. Her enthusiasm for the game and her encouragement inspired many, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie on and off the field. Preceded in death by her parents Sara and Adolph Martinez, her husband Ralph Marquez and her brothers Rudy Martinez and Joe "Mike" Martinez, Josephine is now reunited with them in eternal peace. Her legacy continues through her devoted, loving children Ralph Jr., Cathy, and Joe, grand children and great grand children and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and generosity. As we remember Josephine Marquez, let us celebrate her life, her laughter, and the love she shared with all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
