She was surrounded by love and grace, just as she had lived her life, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and indomitable spirit. Josephine was 80 years young. Born on February 17, 1945, in the charming town of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Josephine was a beacon of light and strength from the very beginning. She was the cherished daughter of Karl Franklin Kramer and Josephine Mae Kramer, who instilled in her the values of compassion and resilience. She was predeceased by her loving parents, her dear sister Gloria Jean Guidry, and her devoted husband, John Stanley Ryba, with whom she shared 55 beautiful years of marriage. Josephine was a dedicated student, graduating high school in 1963, and furthering her education with an Associates Degree in English from Delgado College in Algiers, Louisiana. Her love for the written word was evident in every aspect of her life, from her eloquent letters to her beautifully crafted stories that captured the essence of the world around her. On January 30, 1965, Josephine married the love of her life, John Ryba. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Their union was blessed with a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Ryba, who carries forward her mother’s legacy of grace and kindness. Josephine's life was a testament to the power of love and family. She leaves behind her adored daughter Elizabeth, her beloved sister Carol Chapman, and her caring brother Micheal Kramer. Her family was her greatest pride, and she cherished every moment spent with them. A woman of deep faith and compassion, Josephine dedicated herself to numerous causes, with a special commitment to the Breast Cancer Foundation, where she tirelessly worked to support those affected by this illness. Her generosity and selflessness touched countless lives, and her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her. As we remember Josephine, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of her gentle spirit. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her. A private family service will be held to honor Josephine’s life, in accordance with her wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation in her memory, ensuring that her legacy of compassion and support continues to make a difference. Josephine K. Ryba's life was a gift to us all, and while she may have left this world, her spirit and love will remain with us forever.
