It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Josephine Grossman - De Santo. Josephine passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 29, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York, to Pasquale and Mary DiBiasi, who instilled in her values of love, kindness, and resilience.
Josephine's life was one marked by warmth, compassion, and dedication to her family. As the matriarch of her family, she was cherished by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support created a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those who knew her. She leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, all of whom felt her boundless affection and wisdom.
Throughout her life, Josephine was a beacon of strength and grace. Her home was always filled with laughter, delicious meals, and an open door for anyone in need of comfort or guidance. Her passions included cooking, gardening, and cherishing every moment spent with her family. Josephine's ability to make everyone feel special and loved was a testament to her generous heart and enduring spirit.
A Mass of Christian Burial to honor Josephine's life will take place on August 28, 2026, at 9:30 AM at St Joseph, St Thomas, St John Neumann, located at 6097 Amboy Rd, Staten Island, NY, 10309. Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating the remarkable life of a woman who touched so many hearts.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Carmel Richmond Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care, love, and support they provided to Josephine and her family.
