In Loving Memory

Joseph Williams
December 16, 1956 — March 13, 2026
It is with profound sadness and loving remembrance that we announce the peaceful passing of Joseph Williams, a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, on March 13, 2026, at the age of 69. Joseph's life journey began on December 16, 1956, in the warm community of Millbrook, Alabama, where he was born to the late George Williams, Sr. and Fannie Williams-McGhee.
Joseph's life was a testament to love, dedication, and resilience. He was a beacon of strength and a source of inspiration to many. A devoted husband, Joseph shared a remarkable forty-two and a half years with his beloved wife, Fannie Wise Williams, who stood by his side through life's many seasons. Together, they built a family rooted in love and faith.
Joseph leaves behind a legacy of love through his seven children: two daughters, Tabitha Williams and Tametris Williams, both of Millbrook, AL; and five sons, Christopher (Cheryl) Washington of Millbrook, AL, Curtis Williams of Evansville, IN, Joseph C. Williams, Kenneth (Gladys) Williams, and Deon Williams, all of Millbrook, AL. His presence will be deeply missed, yet his teachings and love will continue to guide them.
Joseph was blessed with a large and loving extended family. He is survived by six devoted sisters: Carrie Woodard of Chicago, IL, Alice Williams of Millbrook, AL, Thelma Duncan of Elmont, NY, Judy Reese of Detroit, MI, Chrissy Jenkins of South Carolina, and Sally (Mervin) Brown of Millbrook, AL. He also leaves behind his cherished brother, Arthur Williams of Montgomery, AL, who shared in the joys and challenges of life with him.
In addition to his immediate family, Joseph is fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law, Georgia Jackson of Montgomery, AL, Virginia Williams of Cleveland, OH, Bernice Wise of Millbrook, AL, and Lucille Wise of Montgomery, AL; as well as his brothers-in-law, Leonard Wise of Millbrook, AL, and Joe Nathan Armstrong of Montgomery, AL. Joseph's family was a source of immense pride and joy, and he delighted in the lives of his 23 grandchildren, each of whom brought him immeasurable happiness.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: John Smith, Sylvester Jackson, Mack Williams, and George Williams. Their memories remained close to Joseph's heart, and he often spoke of them with love and reverence.
The life of Joseph Williams will be celebrated with a service held on March 21, 2026, at Goodship Missionary Baptist Church, located on Highway 143, Millbrook, AL. The community that Joseph cherished is invited to join his family in honoring his life and legacy, as they gather to share stories, laughter, and tears in remembrance of a life well-lived.
Joseph Williams' spirit will forever be a part of those he loved, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering faith. As we say goodbye, we carry forward the lessons he imparted, cherishing the memories and the love that will never fade.
May Joseph rest in eternal peace, forever remembered and deeply loved.
