It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Joseph Wayde Dabadie, who left this world peacefully on June 7, 2026, at the tender age of 23. Joseph's unwavering spirit and insurmountable courage shone brightly even as he bravely battled leukemia, surrounded by the love and warmth of his devoted family.
Joseph was born on February 28, 2003, in the vibrant city of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he was welcomed with open arms by his adoring parents, Michelle Lee King and Jeffery Wayne Dabadie. From a young age, Joseph exhibited a remarkable intelligence and quick wit that charmed everyone he met. His sense of humor was infectious, often bringing laughter and joy to his family and friends.
A proud graduate of St. Amant High School, Class of 2021, Joseph cherished the friendships he made and the knowledge he gained. He was a passionate gamer, immersing himself in virtual worlds where he connected with a vast network of online friends. His gaming community was an extension of his family, and he found immense joy and companionship in those shared adventures.
Joseph was blessed with a tender heart and a boundless love for his family and pets. His warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and he was always ready with a comforting word or a helping hand. His family meant everything to him, and he cherished every moment spent in their company.
Joseph is survived by his devoted parents, Michelle King and Jeffery Dabadie, along with his loving bonus mother, Mona Dabadie. He leaves behind his cherished siblings, brother Daniel Jacob Dabadie and sister Samantha Grace Dabadie, who will forever hold his memory dear. He is also survived by his beloved grandmother, Mary Susan Matherne Mabile, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him dearly.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find solace in knowing that Joseph is reunited with his predeceased family members, including his great-grandmother Velma Matherne, and grandfathers J.W. Dabadie, Joseph Clayton King, and Douglas Mabile. Their spirits will surely watch over him with love and pride.
Joseph's bright light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew him, inspiring us all to live with kindness, humor, and love. His legacy is a testament to the extraordinary person he was, and he will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of Joseph's life will be held in the coming days, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember a remarkable young man who touched our lives in countless ways. Details will be shared with loved ones in due course.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Joseph's memory to leukemia research, helping to support others in their fight against this challenging disease.
May Joseph's gentle soul rest in eternal peace, wrapped in the love of those who have gone before him.
