Joseph Walker
April 17, 1987 — November 15, 2019
Joseph Walker, a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2019, at the age of 32, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born on April 17, 1987, in the warmth of Phoenix, Arizona, Joseph was a beloved son, husband, father, and friend, who spent his life spreading kindness and love to those around him.
Joseph was the cherished son of Axel and Nia Walker, who raised him with unwavering love and support. He is survived by his devoted wife of 14 years, Naomi Walker, and their precious daughter, Ansleigh Walker, who was the apple of his eye. His legacy of love and faith continues through them. He is also survived by his parents, Axel and Nia, and his steadfast best friend, David Payne, who stood by him through life's many challenges and triumphs.
Joseph was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Patrick and Ellie Torres, and his dear sister, Ammie Walker, all of whom he has now joined in eternal rest.
A graduate of Grand Canyon University, Joseph earned a degree in Computer Science, which he used to build a successful 24-year career as an app designer. From the comfort of his home, Joseph poured his creativity and expertise into his work, often blending his technical skills with his artistic soul.
A man of deep faith, Joseph was an active member of North Valley Baptist Church, where he served as a worship leader. His voice, both in song and spirit, uplifted the congregation, and his presence was a gift to all who gathered there. His love for music was shared with his wife and daughter, with whom he spent countless cherished hours playing the guitar and singing. These moments were a testament to his belief in the power of family and faith.
Joseph was known for his radiant personality and his ability to brighten any room he entered. His laughter and warmth were infectious, offering comfort and joy to friends and strangers alike. His kind heart and generous spirit left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
In his final message, Joseph wished to impart a piece of his unwavering faith to his beloved daughter, Ansleigh, encouraging her to always trust in God. This simple, profound message encapsulates the essence of the life he led—a life rooted in faith, love, and hope.
As we say goodbye to Joseph, we celebrate a life well-lived and a soul that touched the lives of many. His memory will forever remain a source of inspiration and love for his family and friends.
Services to honor Joseph's life will be held at North Valley Baptist Church, where we will gather to remember and celebrate the beautiful life of a remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a cancer research charity of your choice, to help continue the fight against the disease that took Joseph too soon.
May Joseph Walker rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of those who have gone before him, and may his spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he left behind.
