With profound sadness and gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Joseph Patrick Ray on September 25, 2026. Born in Pueblo, Colorado, on May 30, 2005, Joseph was a beacon of joy and resilience to all who knew him. Joseph's life was a testament to courage and determination. At the tender age of 16, his world was irrevocably changed after a tragic incident left him in a wheelchair. Despite the immense challenges he faced, Joseph continued to inspire those around him with his indomitable spirit and infectious smile. He had a rare gift for lifting the spirits of others, always armed with a quick wit and a kind smile, making everyone feel cherished and valued. A proud graduate of Highschool 2025. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from playing at the skate park to playing Fortnite with his friends and family to tending to his garden and playing with his beloved puppy, Zara. His time spent with family was a cherished treasure, and he was known for making every moment count with his larger-than-life attitude. Joseph leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold his memory in their hearts. He is survived by his devoted parents, Susan Lucero and Charles Ray II; his siblings, "Charlie" Charles Ray II and April Ray; and his nieces, Chelsey Ray and Abigail Cruz. He will be dearly missed by all. Family includes Grandpa Joe; uncles, Fernando Lucero, Anthony Lucero, and Kelly Somerville; aunts, Anita Somerville; and many others; His cherished pet Zara will deeply feel his absence. Joseph was predeceased by his brother Joseph Benny, Grandpa Patrick, Grandma Ruth, Grandma Susan, Auntie Max, Great Grandma Julia Lucero, Cousin "Bubba" Gregory Lucero, friends Gavino, Diego, & Bryce, and beloved pet Loca. He now joins them in peace. Joseph's legacy is one of love, laughter, and an enduring reminder to live each day to its fullest. A private funeral ceremony will be held in his honor. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all who have supported them during this difficult time. "Thank you for being you! Thank you for the unforgettable 21 years of memories!"
