Joseph P. Leahy

Joseph P. Leahy, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born on September 24, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York, Joe graced the world with his warm presence for nearly 63 years. Joe was the cherished son of Joseph and the late Mary Jane Leahy. He was a devoted brother to his siblings, Thomas(Gina), Aileen(David), and Mary Jane(Theresa) Joe was predeceased by his dear mother, Mary Jane, who he always held close in his heart. He is also survived by Veronica Corbett, who was a loving mother figure. A proud graduate of Power Memorial High School, Joe carried the lessons and camaraderie from his school days throughout his life. His career path led him to work in security and later in maintenance as a dedicated 32BJ union employee. Beyond his professional life, Joe had a profound love for history, particularly World War II. He could often be found immersed in books and documentaries, always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm for the past. An avid New York Giants fan, Joe's passion for his team was unmatched, and his spirited discussions about football will be fondly remembered by those who knew him. Although Joe did not have children of his own, his legacy is carried on by the love and memories shared with his family and friends. He is survived by loving nieces and nephews: Amanda, Alyssa, Bobby, Thomas, Dana and Kara. His kindness, humor, and generosity touched the lives of everyone he met, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him. A service to honor Joe’s life will be held on September 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM-7:00pm at the Marine Park Funeral Home. Joseph P. Leahy will be dearly missed but forever remembered with love and gratitude for the beautiful life he lived and the wonderful memories he leaves behind.
