Joseph Michael Perrotta

April 25, 1952 — March 15, 2026

Joseph Michael Perrotta, lovingly known as "Uncle Joe 56," passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 15, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on April 25, 1952, in Flint, MI, Joe was the beloved son of Charles and Katherine Perrotta, who predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his brother, Richard Perrotta, and his life partner, Shirley Cauley. Joe was the oldest of four siblings, leaving behind a family who adored him. He is survived by his brother Albert Perrotta and sister-in-law Patricia, his sister Christine Henige and brother-in-law Brad, stepchildren Lisa, Mark, Stacy Cauley, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins, who held a special place in his heart. A graduate of Grand Blanc High School in 1970, Joe's life was filled with passion and a relentless pursuit of his interests. From a young age, he demonstrated an affinity for music, mastering the accordion and several other instruments. However, it was the roar of engines and the thrill of speed that truly captivated his spirit. Joe channeled this passion into a lifelong career, teaching small engine repair at the Genesee County Skill Center and later establishing himself as a self-employed entrepreneur. He owned and operated High Tech Motors and Mister Wizards, where he built high-performance engines and repaired cars and motorcycles with unmatched skill and dedication. Joe's love for fast cars and motorcycles was legendary, earning him the affectionate moniker "Uncle Joe 56" at Auto City Speedway, where he raced with unyielding enthusiasm. Yet, amid the revving of engines and the thrill of the racetrack, Joe found comfort in simpler pleasures. He was a connoisseur of Italian cuisine, delighting especially in the sweet indulgence of cannoli. A Celebration of Life to gather to share stories with family and friends in Joe's honor will be held on March 28th, 2026, at the Legends banquet room in Fenton, MI, from 1 pm to 4 pm
