Joseph Michael Glancy

June 4, 1949 — May 26, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Joseph Michael Glancy, who departed this world on May 26, 2026. Joseph was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, whose life was a testament to kindness, dedication, and love for his family and community. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by the warmth of his loved ones, at the age of 76. Born on June 4, 1949, in Memphis, Tennessee, Joseph was the cherished son of Joe and Loraine Glancy. Growing up in a close-knit family, Joseph was instilled with the values of compassion and service, which he carried throughout his life. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph's memory will forever remain in the hearts of his surviving family: his brothers, Pat (Lynn), Sean (Mary), and Tim (Jeanette), his sister Shannon Gasaway (Greg), and his beloved daughters, Carly Claud and Kim Estoker. Joseph was also a proud grandfather to three wonderful grandchildren, who were the light of his life and brought him endless joy. Joseph's journey of learning began at Catholic High School, where he graduated in May 1968. His thirst for knowledge and passion for innovation led him to Christian Brothers University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in May of 1972. His education laid the foundation for a remarkable career in the field of electrical engineering. His professional life was marked by nearly four decades of dedicated service at Entergy Arkansas (formerly AP&L), where he worked as a Registered Electrical Engineer. Joseph was not just an employee but a mentor and a friend to many. His contributions to the company were invaluable, and he retired in 2013, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and integrity. Beyond his professional achievements, Joseph was a man of deep faith and service. He was a devout member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, where he found solace and community. Joseph was also passionately involved with The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, through which he extended his generosity and kindness to those in need. His commitment to helping others was unwavering, and his spirit of giving touched countless lives. Joseph's life was rich with love, laughter, and a profound sense of duty. His family and friends will forever remember his gentle smile, his wise words, and his unwavering support. Joseph had a unique ability to make everyone feel special, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. As we bid farewell to Joseph, we find comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his parents, Joe and Loraine, and that his spirit will continue to guide us. The family invites those who knew and loved Joseph to celebrate his life at a memorial service to be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul in his honor, to continue the work of compassion and service that Joseph so passionately believed in. Joseph Michael Glancy, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. May you rest in eternal peace.
