It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Lynn Pruitt, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, who left us on September 15, 2026. Joseph was born on August 18, 1969, in Elk City, Oklahoma, to proud parents Joel Ray and Shirley Welch Pruitt. Joseph's parents, along with his dear sister, Connie Hall, preceded him in death, and they are now reunited in peace.
Joseph's life was filled with love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 27 years, Lori, who stood by his side since their wedding day on August 7, 1999. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised a loving family, including their cherished children: Kenneth Ray Pruitt, Chantel Rose Williams and her husband Blake, Katie Spillers and her husband Raine, Justin Pruitt, Amber Pruitt, and Erin Pruitt. Joseph's legacy continues through the lives of his thirteen grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy and pride.
A graduate of Elk City, Joseph pursued his passion for craftsmanship by completing his certification in welding. His career was as diverse as his interests, including roles as a dedicated police officer and a skilled truck driver. Joseph's commitment to his work and his community was evident in all he did, always serving with a kind heart and an open spirit.
Joseph embraced life with enthusiasm, whether he was fishing in his favorite spots or riding horses across the open fields. Known for never meeting a stranger, Joseph's warmth and friendliness touched everyone he encountered. He was a man who truly understood the value of community and friendship, a sentiment echoed by his family, who remember him as someone fortunate enough to have many friends and to have lived a good life.
