In Loving Memory of Joseph Kenneth Edwins (March 10, 1956 – April 3, 2026) With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Joseph Kenneth Edwins, lovingly known as Ken, who departed this world peacefully at his home on April 3, 2026. Ken was a beacon of warmth and wisdom, whose life was marked by love, laughter, and a commitment to helping others. Born on March 10, 1956, in the serene coastal town of San Pedro, California, Ken's journey was one of rich experiences and deep connections. The son of Ken Edwins Sr. and Elsie Edwins, Ken was raised with a strong foundation in family values and selfless giving. He carried these principles throughout his life, touching the hearts of those around him. His educational pursuits were as varied as they were impressive, beginning with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California Lutheran University. Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge, Ken furthered his education with a Master’s Degree in Theology from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. He explored communication theory, physics, and metaphysics at a PhD level at Claremont Graduate School and earned a Chartered Financial Consultant degree from The American College. Ken's career as a wealth manager spanned over three decades, where he drew on his extensive education and life experiences to craft sustainable financial plans for his clients. His work was not merely a profession but a calling—one that integrated spirituality, compassion, and a commitment to community service. Ken was a former Board Member of the Cobb Institute, where he chaired the community development and fundraising committee, testament to his dedication to making a positive impact. Outside of his professional life, Ken was a man of many passions. He was a cycling enthusiast, often seen exploring new trails with the same vigor he applied to every aspect of his life. His love for travel was fueled by a desire to connect with loved ones, and he cherished the moments spent visiting family. An avid reader, Ken enjoyed losing himself in the pages of a good book, finding joy and solace in literature. Ken was known for his eccentric style and warm smile, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. His love of laughter was infectious, and his presence brought joy to every gathering. He leaves behind a family who adored him: his children, Kelsen and Kayla, and his beloved grandson, Alvar. Ken's partner, Nadine, whom he met on March 9, 2023, brought him happiness in his final years, sharing a beautiful three-year journey together. A private funeral service will be held to honor Ken's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Prison Puppy Program of Arizona, a cause close to Ken’s heart. Contributions can be made through their website at https://www.lpcanine.org/our-stories/prison-puppy-program-in-arizona. Ken's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we bid farewell to a cherished soul, we celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering generosity. Rest in peace, dear Ken, knowing you have left an indelible mark on this world.
