Joseph Jordan passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on February 12, 1933, in Baltimore, Maryland, Joseph lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love, leaving a lasting legacy.
Joseph proudly served in the during United States Army during the Korean War era, embodying the resilience and honor that defined his life. His commitment to excellence extended beyond his military service, touching many lives through generosity, kindness, and devotion to others.
Throughout his life, he experienced both joys and challenges, and his family remembers him with love as they celebrate his life, legacy and wisdom with cherished memories that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A man of many passions, Joseph had an exceptional talent for numbers, a skill he enjoyed sharing with others, often through his love of playing the lottery. His sense of humor was well known, and he had a unique ability to lighten a room with a well-timed joke—even if he was the only one laughing. In addition, not to be forgotten, was his love for jewelry. Lastly, those who knew Joeseph also knew he had a lifelong appreciation for the ladies. Even at 93, his charm and playful spirit never faded, often bringing laughter to friends and family.
Joseph was a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his loving children: Loretta Jordan-El, Anthony Jordan, Josie Jordan Stevenson, Kim Jordan, and Cherie Jordan. His legacy lives on through his 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, whose lives have been touched by his strength, wisdom, humor, and enduring spirit. Joseph was preceded in death by his former wife, Delores Satterfield Jordan Young with whom he shared their five children. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends who will remember him with love.
In his final days, Joseph was surrounded by compassionate care, for which his family remains deeply grateful. Our family extends our heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, caregivers, and everyone who offered kindness, comfort, and support during this time. Your dedication and compassion will never be forgotten.
Joseph Jordan leaves behind a legacy of resilience, love, laughter, and service.
Though he will be deeply missed, his memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, celebrating a life well lived and a journey well traveled, and find comfort in the memories we will cherish forever.
