Joseph "Joe" Donald, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 29 on June 15, 2026, at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT, due to complications of the heart. Born on January 13, 1997, in Berlin, VT, Joe lived a life full of warmth, love, and laughter that touched everyone around him. Joe was the cherished son of Christina Donald and Robert Donald, and he also shared a close bond with his stepmother, Heather Donald. He is survived by his loving siblings Nicolelus Sanborn, Justice Donald, and Skylar Donald, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Joe was a devoted uncle to his nieces Ahledia and Aalia, and his nephews Liam and Ahmerson, all of whom he adored beyond measure. His grandparents, Pam Gibbs and Joseph Rouleau, along with Carol and Butch Donald, were a source of wisdom and love in Joe's life. He shared treasured moments with his aunts and uncles, Fern Rouleau, Shawn Bell, Kelly Belville, Hope Lakus, Larry Lakus, Lance Donald, Jason Rouleau, Gina Rouleau and his late uncle Timothy Belville, as well as his dear cousins Cody, Morgan, Jacob, Orianna, Gunnar, Nelson, KaitLynn, Lauren, Tayvian, Kristian, Lexi, Janet and Trevor. In addition to his family, Joe was blessed with many lifelong friends who he considered family, including the late Nick Ward and Brittney Wheeler, with whom he shared countless adventures. Joe's early education took place at Williamstown Elementary and Middle School, followed by alternative education at Granite Academy. He was a man of many talents, particularly when it came to working with his hands. As a gifted mechanic, Joe had the uncanny ability to diagnose vehicle issues with ease. He found joy in construction, roofing, and concrete work, taking pride in seeing his hard work manifest as a finished product. An outdoor enthusiast, Joe embraced every opportunity to fish and hunt, reveling in the beauty and serenity of nature. He was known for his infectious sense of humor and his ability to bring laughter into any situation. Joe was a protector at heart, always ready to lend a helping hand without hesitation. His genuine care for others was evident in his constant expressions of love, whether in a phone call or a hug. Joe's greatest joy was being an uncle, a role he embraced with all his heart. Though he never wanted children of his own, he found immense fulfillment in spoiling his nieces and nephews. He was also a devoted brother, both to his biological siblings and those he adopted into his family along life's journey. A memorial service to celebrate Joe's life will be held on August 16, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Canadian Club, located at 414 East Montpelier Rd, Barre, VT 05641. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring Joe's spirit of generosity and care for others. Joe's legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He lived each day with a wild spirit, a comforting heart, and an unwavering devotion to family and friends. As we remember Joe, let us embrace his love for life and the joy he brought into our world.
