Josefa Rodriguez
June 17, 1937 — May 30, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Josefa Rodriguez, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Josefa left this world peacefully on May 30, 2025, in her home in Castro Valley, California, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on June 17, 1937, in Castro Valley, CA, to Concepcion Vado and Manuel Martinez.
Josefa was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to nurturing her family and creating a warm, welcoming home. As a housewife, she found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as reading her beloved fotonovelas and praying her novenas. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, and she was a devoted Catholic whose life was anchored in prayer and devotion. She emigrated to the United States in 1984 with all of her children and a grandchild.
Those who knew Josefa will remember her for her quick wit and her unique ability to command respect, coupled with a heart that overflowed with kindness and generosity. She had a special gift for reaching out to those in need, always offering a helping hand and a warm smile. Her legacy is one of grace, resilience, and a deep love that touched everyone who crossed her path.
Josefa was predeceased by her son, Ernesto Rodriguez, and her granddaughter, Carolina Rodriguez. She leaves behind a loving family, including her children Cristina, Eduardo, Raquel, Lester, and Rebecca. Her presence will also be missed by her ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
Today is a very special day, today is my brother’s birthday (RIP). She is finally with her son Tito and her granddaughter, Carolina.
A memorial service to honor Josefa's remarkable life will be held on August 28, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, located at 26320 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the beautiful memories and legacy she leaves behind.
I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to Maribel Rodriguez, Roxanna Lopez, and Gabriel for their unwavering love, care, and dedication to Josefa during her final days. Their compassion and support brought comfort and dignity to Josefa's journey. A special thank you is also extended to a little girl named Yemi, who brought new meaning and joy to Josefa's life at the end of her journey.
Josefa Rodriguez will forever be remembered for her vibrant spirit, enduring faith, and the unconditional love she gave to her family. Her memory will be cherished and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
