In Loving Memory of Jose Manuel Elizalde It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jose Manuel Elizalde, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Jose left this world on May 4th, 2026, at the age of 72, after bravely fighting a battle with cancer. Born on October 10th, 1953, in the vibrant community of Harlem, New York, Jose lived a life full of love, laughter, and compassion. Jose was a cherished son of the late Juan Francisco Elizalde and Annie Lou Williams, who instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and respect. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother John Francisco Elizalde, nephew Lawrence Williams, niece Deborah Johnson, and grandnieces Joy Johnson and Venus Williams. He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Loretta, who stood by him through every high and low with unwavering love and support. Jose's legacy lives on through his children, Phillip, Michael Scott, and Zena Elizalde Anderson (Jarret), who each carry a piece of his heart and spirit. His sister, Doris Williams, nephew Daryl Williams (Sandra), and niece Gail Copeland also mourn his passing along with his grandchildren Phil Loft, Shyanna Wilson, Chena Scott, Alexis Scott, Malik Scott, and Jalynn and Ziya Anderson. Jose's family tree extends to his grandnieces Dawn Youngblood (Aaron), Lakisha Yarborough (Lamont), Jasmine Johnson, and Rose Norman, and his grandnephew George Norman. His great-grandchildren Carter, Kelsey, and Kadsen, along with numerous great-grand and great-great-grand nieces and nephews, will grow up knowing the love and wisdom he imparted to all who knew him. In his professional life, Jose was a dedicated and skilled craftsman in the building construction industry for over 35 years. Starting as a draftsman, he rose to become a respected general contractor. His passion for the challenges of structural building was evident in every project he undertook. When his health no longer allowed him to continue in construction, he seamlessly transitioned to supporting Loretta Elizalde Consulting Services, bringing his expertise and calm demeanor to his role as Administrator. Jose's love for jazz music often filled his office, creating an atmosphere of creativity and peace. He was a devoted fan of the Ravens and the Yankees, relishing every moment of watching his favorite teams play. But above all, Jose cherished his family and found joy in every gathering, large or small. Known for his calm demeanor and respectful nature, Jose was a beacon of kindness in every interaction. His off-beat jokes brought smiles and laughter, leaving those around him with cherished memories. Whether in a store, a doctor's office, or at a sporting event, Jose's ability to engage with people of all ages was a testament to his warm and approachable spirit. His presence was truly a pleasure to be around. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who offered prayers, support, and love during this difficult time. Your kindness and compassion have been a source of comfort and strength. As we say goodbye to Jose, let us celebrate the remarkable life he led and the indelible mark he has left on our hearts. Though he may no longer walk among us, his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us every day. Rest in peace, dear Jose. You will be forever loved and missed.
