In loving memory, we honor the life of Jose Luis Gutierrez, affectionately known as Joe, who passed away surrounded by family on July 11, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 13, 1951, in San Antonio, Texas, Joe was a beacon of joy and laughter, known for his quick wit and the affectionate nicknames he bestowed upon his friends and siblings. Joe was the beloved son of the late Jose Gutierrez and Josefina P Gutierrez. He was also preceded in death by his cherished brothers, Samuel Gutierrez and Israel Gutierrez. He is survived by his devoted wife, Eva Rios Gutierrez, who stood by him with unwavering love and support. Joe Luis was blessed with three children: Joey Gutierrez, Mia Woods, Denise Gutierrez. His legacy of love and laughter continues through his eight grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life. Joe was a proud graduate of Dilley High School, Class of 1970. He dedicated 25 years of service to Mary Kay Industry, where he was admired for his dedication and humor. His jovial spirit touched the lives of colleagues and friends alike. Among his family, Joe leaves behind his dear siblings: Joann Moreno, Linda Guajardo, Quirino Gutierrez, Stella G. Schwartz, Ralph Gutierrez, and Danny Gutierrez. They will forever cherish the memories and laughter they shared with their brother. Joe's life will be celebrated at a service on August 8, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Iglesia Bautista Hispana de Mustang, located at 8153 FM1385, Pilot Point, TX 76258. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Joe are invited to come together in remembrance of a remarkable man who brought so much joy to those around him. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Joe's caregivers: his wife, Eva Rios-Gutierrez, his sister, Joann Moreno, and his daughter, Mia Woods, for their loving care and support during his final days. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's memory can be made to his Church, Iglesia Bautista Hispana de Mustang honoring his spirit of kindness and generosity. Joe Luis Gutierrez leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. His humor, warmth, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
