Jose Antonio Castillo

November 27, 2004 — June 27, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jose Antonio Castillo, who left this world on June 27, 2026, at the tender age of 21. Jose was born on November 27, 2004, in the close-knit community of Del Rio, Texas, where he spent his life surrounded by the love of family and friends. Jose was the cherished son of Jose Juan Castillo and Araceli Castillo, and Asiana Guajardo and Gilberto Guajardo. He leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold him close in their hearts, including his siblings Angel Castillo, Daisy Castillo, Christopher Cadena, Sarai Cadena, Aleida Riojas, and Dezirae Guajardo. Jose's memory will also be lovingly preserved by his grandparents, Jose Castillo Hernandez, Hermelinda Alvarez Olvera, Maria De Jesus Reyes, Alma Kelley, and David Kelley, as well as his aunts and uncles Rosa Del Carmen Castillo Alvarez, Isabel Cristina Castillo Alvarez, Angelica Ortiz, Patricia Reyes, and Pedro Reyes. He is also survived by a host of cousins and countless friends who were like family to him. A proud graduate of Odessa High school , Jose carried with him a passion for life that was evident in everything he did. Whether he was casting a line while fishing, galloping on horseback across the ranch, or perfecting his skills in welding, Jose approached life with enthusiasm and dedication. His cowboy hat was almost as iconic as his infectious smile, a beacon of warmth and joy that could light up any room. Jose’s love for his truck and the open road was matched only by his love for dancing and being the life of the party. He possessed an innate ability to make everyone around him laugh, leaving a trail of cherished memories and laughter in his wake. His humorous, ambitious, and goal-oriented nature was a testament to the hardworking and generous spirit he embodied. More than anything, Jose had a heart as vast as the Texas sky. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, often putting others before himself. His unyielding kindness and compassion left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we gather to celebrate Jose's life, we are reminded of the profound impact he had on our lives and the many ways he brightened our days. Though he was taken from us far too soon, the legacy of love and laughter he leaves behind will continue to inspire us all. Jose, you will be deeply missed, but your spirit will forever ride with us, like a cherished melody that plays on in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Jose. You have left a mark on this earth that will never fade.
