It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of José Miguel Rodríguez, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 21, 2026. Born on July 1, 1983, in Toledo, Ohio, José Miguel was a beacon of love and warmth to all who knew him. Miguel, as he was affectionately called, was the cherished son of Jacqueline Urías and Gustavo Reyes. He leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly, including his devoted wife, Heather Hoot; his treasured daughter, Makayla Rodriguez Wright; and his two beloved stepsons. His legacy continues through his adored grandsons, Givenchy Smith and KJ Hoot, who brought immense joy to his life. Growing up, Miguel was inspired by his grandfather, the late Raymond V. Rodriguez, who now welcomes him into eternal peace. He is also survived by his grandmother, Hilda Rodriguez, whose wisdom and kindness shaped much of who he became. His brothers, Jose Gustavo, Manual, and Sebastian Fabian, together with his uncle Raymond Rodriguez and wife, share in the sorrow of his passing. Miguel's passion for food was more than just a career; it was his art form. He expressed his creativity and love through the meals he prepared, bringing happiness and comfort to those around him. Whether it was a family gathering or a community event, Miguel's culinary creations were always the highlight, crafted with care and a touch of his vibrant spirit. A service to celebrate Miguel's life will be held at St. Peter and Paul’s Church on July 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to honor his memory and share in the stories that made him so special. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Miguel's memory. Through this gesture, his generous spirit will continue to shine, supporting causes that align with the love and compassion he showed throughout his life. Though José Miguel Rodríguez has departed from this world, his laughter, kindness, and culinary genius will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
