Jonathan M. Cox, a cherished son, grandson, and friend, was welcomed into the world on September 24, 1994, in the heart of Pampa, TX. On March 4, 2026, he peacefully departed this life at home, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and kindness that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. Jonathan was the beloved son of Sherry Cox and the late Mike Elliott. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Britney, and son, Barrett Cox, who were the loves of his life and whom he cherished deeply. He was also preceded in death by his beloved late mother, Sherry Cox and grandparents Elna and Raymond cox, and a host of great uncles and aunts. He is survived by his father, Mike, and six brothers and three sisters. Jonathan also leaves behind a host of uncles and aunts who will forever hold him in their hearts. A proud graduate of Pampa High School's Class of 2013, Jonathan pursued higher education at Amarillo College, where he earned an associate's degree in Instrumental Technology. His academic journey was a testament to his dedication and ambition, qualities that would define his career. Jonathan's professional life was marked by diligence and excellence. Even before completing his studies, he was recruited by Cabot as an I & E Tech. His career trajectory was a reflection of his remarkable work ethic and commitment, leading him to the roles of Maintenance Supervisor and later, Safety Specialist. His colleagues admired him not just for his expertise but for the integrity and compassion he brought to his work every day. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jonathan was a man of many passions. From a young age, he found joy in the rhythm of a basketball game, often seen with a ball in hand on the court. His love for sports extended to golf and track, where he excelled in high and long jumps, showcasing his competitive spirit and grace. Jonathan's fascination with old cars and tinkering with his truck revealed his love for craftsmanship and nostalgia. Jonathan's heart was most full when he was with his son, Barrett. Fatherhood was his greatest achievement, and he relished every moment spent fishing with Barrett or sharing the magical world of Harry Potter together. His love and dedication to his son were evident in every aspect of his life, and he carried this devotion with him always. Jonathan's life will be celebrated on March 10, 2026, with a service at 2:00 PM at the Winegeart Funeral Home, located at 300 Browning Ave, Pampa, TX 79065. Those who gather will honor a life beautifully lived and remember a soul who brought light and laughter to all who met him. In celebrating Jonathan's life, we remember a man whose spirit was as vibrant as the sports he loved, as steadfast as his commitment to his family, and as warm as the Texas sun that shone down on his beloved hometown.
