Obituary
Jonathan “Joey” Marshall Sanders
May 12, 1980 - October 13, 2026
“And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”
John 10:28
On Tuesday morning, October 13, 2026, Jonathan entered his rest with the Lord. He was the son of Singleton and Elleaner Joyce Harris, and the late Johnie Sanders. He was the second eldest son of six children from a blended family. Jonathan received Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He had a tremendous joy for music, drummer for the music ministry at his church (In Christ Baptist Church), sports (his beloved GreenBay Packers), and the culinary arts.
Jonathan attended Provine High School and prior to his illness was employed off shore with Florida Marine Transporters. He ultimately became an entrepreneur with Chaney’s Kitchen and Catering, culminating into his pride and joy, Chaney's Cracklins.
To cherish his memories are: his children- Jasmine and Jaylen Sanders; his parents- Singleton and Elleaner Harris; brothers- Allen Craft Jr, Frederick Harris, Jason Jefferson (Sarah), Bryan Harris; sister- Brandi Harris Jordan (Shelby- preceded him in death); two nieces that he adored Laila Harris and Dallas Jordan; and an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends..
Jonathan lived fearlessly, never meeting a stranger. He will always be remembered for his love for others and compassionate heart, a loyal friend, a hard worker with a joy for cooking, the Greenbay Packers, and fishing. He will be truly missed.
