With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Jonah Bryson Shaw, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, who left us on February 20, 2026, at the age of 40. Born in Austell, Georgia, on May 29, 1985, Jonah spent his early years in Douglasville, Georgia, where he developed a love for life that would leave an indelible mark on everyone he met. Jonah was a man of many talents and passions. He dedicated his professional life as a skilled HVAC Technician with B&B Services, earning the respect and admiration of both colleagues and clients. He was known for his exceptional work ethic and a knack for solving problems, always ready to lend a hand with a smile. His contributions to the field of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work were remarkable. Jonah's life was a rich tapestry woven with adventure and love. He had an insatiable curiosity for the world, which he fed by traveling and exploring new places. Riding his motorcycle was not just a hobby but a source of immense joy for Jonah, symbolizing the freedom and exhilaration he embraced in life. He was equally passionate about hunting, camping, hiking, and building things with his own hands, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and showcase his creativity. Family was the cornerstone of Jonah's life. He was a devoted husband to Valan Easterling Shaw, whom he married on February 29, 2019. Together, they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Jonah was a loving father to his children, Ethan, Bryson, and Katelyn, and a doting grandfather to his granddaughter, Marilyn. His family was his pride and joy, and he dedicated himself to their happiness and well-being. Jonah is preceded in death by his father, Steve Shaw, and his sisters, Donna Tasker and Christy Allison. He is survived by his wife, Valan; his children, Ethan, Bryson, and Katelyn; his mother and step-father, Jan and William Brown; his brothers, Josh, Jordan (and his wife Sara), Tanner (and his wife Robin), and Brandon; his sisters, Ashley and Lori (and her husband Gary); and numerous friends and relatives who will forever cherish his memory. A member of Christ Fellowship, Jonah was a man of faith whose big heart and generous spirit touched the lives of many. He could light up any room with his presence, always ready to help those in need. His enduring legacy is one of love, kindness, and living life to the fullest. In accordance with the family’s wishes, Jonah was cremated. A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 6 P.M. at the Hutcheson-Croft Funeral Home chapel, 421 Sage St., Temple, GA 30179, with Brother Neal Shelnutt officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather for a visitation prior to the service from 5 P.M. to 6 P.M. The family has shared a heartfelt message for Jonah: "You will be so missed. I love you for the rest of my life. Ride high, babe, and give Heaven hell for us. Watch over me—I need to feel your presence." Jonah Bryson Shaw's life was a testament to the power of love, adventure, and resilience. Though his time with us was far too short, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. He will be profoundly missed, but his memory will forever remain a beacon of light in our hearts.
