Jon Anthony Cook

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for the life he lived that we announce the passing of Jon Anthony Cook, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, who peacefully left this world on January 5, 2026, at his home. Born on August 17, 1967, in Martin’s Ferry, Ohio, Jon was a guiding light to all who knew him, bringing warmth, laughter, and love to everyone he encountered.
Jon was the cherished son of the late Leonda Cook, whose spirits now welcome him into eternal rest.Also his Father Roy Cook, He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Julie Cook, with whom he shared a life filled with love and adventure since they wed on October 8, 1992. Together, Jon and Julie raised two sons, Waylon and Travis Cook, who were the pride and joy of Jon’s life.
Jon's early years were spent in Oroville, California, where he graduated from Las Plumas High School. His career as a Class A truck driver at Alpha Packaging in Greenwood, Arkansas, was more than just a job to him; it was a calling. He relished every moment behind the wheel, cherishing the camaraderie with his coworkers and the freedom of the open road.
Beyond his professional life, Jon was a passionate member of the Lighthouse Family Worship Center in Witcherville, Arkansas, where his faith was a cornerstone of his life. He also found brotherhood and fellowship as a member of E Clampus Vitus 5978 in La Porte, California, where he was affectionately known as "Little Jon."
Jon's life was rich with hobbies that brought him immense joy. His passion for motorcycles was well-known, and he always owned one, finding solace and thrill in the ride. He was an avid fisherman, loved camping, and treasured every moment spent with his family. Jon had a particular fondness for the simple pleasures of life, including his love for SpaghettiOs, ravioli, and mashed potatoes.
Jon leaves behind a large, loving family, including his brother Tim Cook, sister Shawna Eddy, nephews Shane Eddy and Dustin Baysinger, and nieces Jasmine Eddy, Shakia Keith, and Brooklyn Baysinger. He is also survived by his father-in-law Walt Rector, mothers-in-law Denise and Brenda Rector, sister-in-law Kaylene Rector, brother-in-law Darrel Baysinger, along with numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. His beloved dogs, Seymore, Laverne, Shirley, and Valentine, will undoubtedly feel the absence of their caring owner.
The Cook family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks for the prayers, gifts, and support they have received during this difficult time. Jon’s legacy of love, kindness, and joy will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
