It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Johnny Stephenson, who departed this world peacefully on March 13, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on May 20, 1955, in Tifton, Georgia, Johnny was a beloved partner, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. Johnny was the son of Dale and Rudine Stephenson. He is now reunited in peace with his parents, his brothers David and Brian Stephenson , and his sister Lisa Stephenson . Johnny was a man who left an indelible mark on everyone he met, and he will be dearly missed by those who survive him: his loving partner, Jean Willyard; his siblings, Gail Stephenson Harris and her husband John, and Karen Stephenson Smith and her husband Steve; and his children, Shawn Stephenson, Latrisha Stephenson and her husband Craig, Tj Stephenson, Clint Willyard and his wife Arana, Sonnie Sulkowski and her husband Chris, and Heather Sacik and her wife Shelle. Johnny's legacy also lives on in his grandchildren, Katelyne Gessford, Jeremy Gessford and his wife Grace, Christian Gessford, Paisley Stephenson, Callee Willyard, Letty Willyard, Jacob Sulkowski and his wife Hannah, Joshua Reed and his wife Tara, and Kenlee Reed. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who adored him. Johnny was a skilled commercial and residential painter, a career that allowed him to express his creativity and attention to detail. Beyond his professional life, Johnny was a man of many passions. He found great joy in fishing, a pastime that allowed him to connect with nature and find peace. His love for collecting guns was a reflection of his appreciation for craftsmanship and history. He was also an avid video gamer, always eager to engage in new adventures and challenges. Johnny's love for his animals was evident in the way he cared for them, and his green thumb was showcased in the beautiful gardens he tended. Above all, Johnny treasured the time spent with his friends and family. His generous spirit and warm smile will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. In accordance with Johnny's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his life and legacy. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life he led and the countless lives he touched. Johnny Stephenson's memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the love and lessons he shared, grateful for the time we had with such a remarkable man.
