March 2, 1943 — May 1, 2026

It is with both heavy hearts and profound gratitude that we announce the passing of Johnny Ryan, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who departed from this world on May 1, 2026, at the age of 83, after a courageous battle with cancer. Johnny was surrounded by his loving family in his final moments, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and resilience. Johnny Ryan was born on March 2, 1943, in the warm and welcoming town of Jackson, Mississippi, to Shirley and Albert Ryan. From a young age, he was known for his spirited nature and compassionate heart, traits that would define his life and the countless lives he touched. He carried with him the values instilled by his parents, who predeceased him, leaving a lasting impression on the community he cherished so deeply. In 1988, Johnny married the love of his life, Emma, on a beautiful spring day, April 4th. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support. Together, they built a family that became Johnny's pride and joy. Although Emma preceded him in death, their love story remains an inspirational chapter in the hearts of those who knew them. Johnny was a devoted father to his nine children, each of whom carries forward his legacy of love, integrity, and determination. His role as a grandfather to 16 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren was one he cherished dearly, often found sharing stories of his youth or offering sage advice to guide them on their journeys. His home was a haven of warmth, where family and friends gathered to celebrate life's joys and find solace in times of need. Beyond his family, Johnny was a beacon of light to countless friends and loved ones. His humility, generosity, and genuine care for others were evident in every interaction, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Johnny’s life, in accordance with his wishes. His family invites those who knew him to cherish their personal memories and celebrate his life in their own special ways. While we grieve his absence, we also celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and an unyielding spirit that will forever inspire those who remain. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Johnny's name to cancer research organizations, as a tribute to his brave fight and in hope of a cure that others may benefit from his strength. Rest in peace, Johnny Ryan. You have left an indelible legacy of love and kindness that will remain in our hearts forever.
