Johnny Merle Allen

It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Johnny Merle Allen, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many, on July 24, 2026. Born on February 27, 1954, in Claremore, OK, Johnny lived a life full of love, laughter, and endless adventures. He departed this world surrounded by the warmth of his family at his home. Johnny was the cherished son of the late Sammy Lou and Merle Dean Allen. He is reunited in peace with his parents, his son, Johnathon Allen, and his granddaughter, Brianna Willard. He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Michelle (Nickie) Allen, with whom he shared a beautiful journey of love and family since their marriage on June 6, 1998. Together, they raised a blended family of six children: Robert Henderson of Okmulgee, Melissa Willard of Tulsa, Malinda Seymour of Broken Arrow, Mandie and her spouse Joseph Dearman of Canal Point, FL, Magon and her spouse Matt Koesler of Vinita, OK, and Anthony and his spouse Ericka Lain of Cleveland, OK. His legacy continues through his 27 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Johnny was a loving brother to his three sisters, Bonnie, Ida and Jim Davis, and shared an inseparable bond with his sister Martha Bain. His extended family includes numerous nieces and nephews, along with countless friends whom he embraced as family. A proud graduate of Preston High School, Class of 1971, Johnny furthered his education at Okmulgee Tech and served his country with honor in the Air National Guard. He found his calling as a carpenter, creating lasting legacies through his work on renowned projects throughout Tulsa and Okmulgee, including the rainforest project at the zoo. Later, he founded his own company, transforming homes and lives with his craftsmanship and dedication. Johnny was a man of many passions. An avid fisherman, he found solace and joy on the riverbanks and lakesides, always with a fishing pole in hand. He was a lover of sci-fi movies and an advocate for nature and animals, often found hiking and hunting for arrowheads. His humor was infectious, known for his quick wit and the best dad jokes, which he delivered with a twinkle in his eye and a laugh that warmed the hearts of those around him. A gentle soul with a strong moral compass, Johnny was as honest as the day is long. He was never a stranger to anyone, and his friendships were as deep and enduring as his family bonds. A memorial service to celebrate Johnny's life will be held on July 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Disney Assembly of God, located at 313 EAST Wall St, Disney, OK 74340. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in Johnny's honor. Johnny's family wishes to share their heartfelt message: "Gone Fishing." May he forever find peace in the great outdoors he loved so dearly.
