It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Johnny Lee Robertson, who peacefully departed this life on August 28, 2026, at his residence in the comforting presence of his devoted family. Born on May 23, 1944, in Macon, Georgia, Johnny was the beloved son of Etta Mae Robertson and James Lee Robertson, both of whom have preceded him in death, along with his cherished brother, Matthew Robertson. Johnny's journey was one marked by dedication, warmth, and a deep love for those around him. A proud graduate of Lansing High School in 1966, he went on to build a fulfilling career as a skilled plumber for 15 years, and later as a dedicated electrician with Sumter Electric, where he worked tirelessly for 30 years until his health required him to step back. In 1975, Johnny married the love of his life, Elizabeth Smith, in sunny Florida. Together, they celebrated 30 wonderful years of marriage, raising their beloved son, Johnny Lee Robertson Jr., in a home filled with laughter and love. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them, including his two precious grandchildren. Johnny's passions extended beyond his work and family. He was a devoted farmer, finding peace and fulfillment in tending to his animals. His leisure time was often spent fishing, a pastime he shared with family and friends, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Known for his kind heart and helpful nature, Johnny was always ready to lend a hand to those in need, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of many. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Robertson, his devoted son, Johnny Lee Robertson Jr., his dear sister, Ruthie Mae Robertson, and his two treasured grandchildren, who will all carry forward his legacy of kindness and love. A service to honor and celebrate Johnny's life will be held on September 5, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Joann Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel, located at 632 Aldridge Rd. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Joann Thomas Funeral Home and Cremations for their compassionate assistance, as well as to Allways Caring Home Care for their unwavering support. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Johnny's memory to a charity of your choice, in honor of his generous spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others. Johnny Lee Robertson will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His legacy of kindness and dedication to those he loved will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
