Obituary for Johnny Lee
June 15, 1960 – May 27, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Johnny Lee on May 27, 2026, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in the small, welcoming town of Kirbyville, Texas, Johnny carried the warmth of his birthplace with him throughout his life, touching the hearts of all who knew him.
Johnny was the cherished son of Mr. Carl Adams and Ms. Josie Lee Miles, who predeceased him, along with his beloved sisters Nita, Katherine, Carolyn Faye, and Bernice, his nephew Bobby Lynn, and cousin Jackie Wilson. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jeri Adams, with whom he shared a beautiful journey of 47 years, marked by boundless patience, laughter, and love. Their story began in 1979 in Kirbyville, blossomed into marriage in 1990 in Sacramento, California, and was blessed with three daughters: Krishauna, BreAnna, and Marissa Adams.
Johnny's legacy lives on in his grandchildren, Teonna, Malachi, Olivia, Alexsia, Deshawn, Alayjiah, CJ, and Jasayl, who will forever carry forward the wisdom and love imparted by their "Paw Paw." He is also survived by his brothers, Larry Adams and Melvin Miles, and his sisters, Alma Lee, Carl Lee, and Doris. His presence will be dearly missed by his many nephews, Forrest, Roger, and Joseph, nieces Denise, Bonnie, Elmora, and Willie Mae Adams, and countless other relatives and friends.
Throughout his life, Johnny was a dedicated worker, earning the affectionate nickname "Johnny Dollar" for his tireless devotion to providing for his family. His career spanned diverse fields including warehouse management, construction, hazmat, and home repair. He was a true "jack of all trades," embodying a work ethic that inspired everyone around him.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Johnny's greatest joy was his family. He cherished spending time with them, drawing, sketching, and engaging in long conversations that showcased his vast knowledge and wisdom. Johnny had a deep love for muscle cars, particularly the 1978 Pontiac Trans Am, and was never one to miss an opportunity to dance to music from any genre. His love for life and his family was evident in everything he did.
Johnny's personality was a beacon of warmth and kindness, welcoming all who crossed his path. His words and wisdom changed lives, and his legacy of love and guidance will continue to influence his family and friends. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed, but his spirit will remain with us always and forever.
A memorial service to celebrate Johnny's extraordinary life will be held on June 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM at The Harrison, located at 2863 35th Street, Sacramento, CA 95817. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Methodist and Mercy General Hospital for their compassionate care, as well as to all family and friends for their love, patience, and understanding during this difficult time. Your support has been invaluable in honoring Johnny with the memorial he so richly deserved. We appreciate each and every one of you more than words can convey. Thank you.
