Johnny Glenn Evans

It is with both sadness and gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Johnny Glenn Evans, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this world on July 16, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on March 8, 1950, in Portsmouth, Virginia, Johnny lived a life marked by devotion to his family and friends, excellence in his profession, love for his dogs and garden, and a wicked sense of humor. A proud resident of Chesapeake, Virginia, Johnny was known for his remarkable skill with numbers and his steadfast commitment to managing his family's accounting and financial needs. His work was meticulous, dependable, and rooted in a genuine desire to support those he loved. Johnny was also a fighter. After being diagnosed with leukemia, he faced the battle with courage and determination. Through perseverance and the support of those who loved him, he overcame the illness - a victory that spoke to his resilient spirit. He was truly blessed, and his family will forever remember the strength he carried and the hope he inspired. Beyond his professional accomplishments and personal triumphs, Johnny was a deeply family‑oriented man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. Johnny was preceded in death by his father, James Evans; mother, Dorothy Evans; and his brother, Roger Evans. He leaves behind his brother, Phillip Evans; his nieces, Jamie Evans, Annette Imbriaco, and Jennifer Hudgins (Gary); an aunt, Detra Rose; and many cousins, extended family, and friends. He was also self-designated as "The Great Uncle Johnny" to Aiden Evans, Jacey Imbriaco, Cooper Hudgins, and London Hudgins.
