It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Johnny C. Salazar, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who left this world on July 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 7, 1953, in San Antonio, TX, Johnny was the cherished son of Beatrice and Santiago Salazar, who preceded him in death along with his brothers David and Jimmy Salazar. Johnny was a beacon of warmth and kindness whose life was a testament to devotion and love. He shared 50 beautiful years of marriage with his soulmate, Donna Salazar, creating a family filled with love and laughter. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Jennifer Marquez, who, along with her husband Luis, blessed Johnny with a grandson, Skyler Marquez, and Jonathan Salazar, who gave him two grandsons, Nathaniel and Jaedyn Salazar. Johnny's grandchildren were the light of his life, and he relished every moment spent with them, imparting wisdom and sharing in their joys. A proud alumnus of Burbank High School in San Antonio, Johnny dedicated 30 years of his life to a fulfilling career at HLSA. He was known for his work ethic and his unwavering loyalty, traits that earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and friends. Outside the workplace, Johnny lived his life with passion and enthusiasm. A devout member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, his faith was a guiding force in his life, providing strength and comfort to him and his family. Johnny's love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies; he was an avid fisherman and golfer, finding peace and joy amidst nature's beauty. His vibrant spirit was also reflected in his love for sports, particularly the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Yankees, the San Antonio Spurs, and the University of Texas Longhorns, teams he supported with unwavering loyalty. Johnny's legacy is one of love, strength, and dedication. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Johnny's life at a memorial service on July 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jerome Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Johnny's memory to a diabetes research organization of your choice, in hopes of advancing understanding and treatment of the disease that took him from us too soon. May Johnny rest in eternal peace, forever remembered for the love he gave and the lives he touched.
