February 17, 1960 — April 3, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Johnathan Edwards on April 3, 2026. Born on February 17, 1960, in Utica, Mississippi, Johnathan was a beacon of warmth and laughter to all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was surrounded by the loving presence of friends and family as he embarked on his final journey. Johnathan was the cherished son of the late Anna and Philip Edwards, who instilled in him the values of kindness, resilience, and community service. These values guided him throughout his life and are his lasting legacy. He was predeceased by both his beloved parents but leaves behind a family who continues to honor those same principles. A devoted husband, Johnathan shared 19 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Felicia Edwards. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with love, laughter, and the joyful spirit of their three children: Breanna, Marcus, and Joshua. Johnathan’s pride and joy extended to his three grandchildren, who were never far from his thoughts or his heart. Johnathan's life was marked by dedication and service. After graduating from Calloway High School, he served in the United States military for a decade, demonstrating his commitment to his country with honor and valor. Following his military service, Johnathan applied his skills and work ethic at Ford Motor Company, where he worked for 13 years. His colleagues remember him not only for his hard work and professionalism but also for his infectious smile and quick wit that could light up any room. Outside of his professional life, Johnathan was an avid fisherman. He cherished his weekends on the water, where he found peace and joy in the simple act of casting a line and waiting patiently for a bite. His stories from these trips, filled with humor and excitement, were shared generously with friends and family, often accompanied by his signature smile and a twinkle in his eye. Johnathan was a cornerstone in the community, always ready with a joke to lighten the mood or a helping hand for those in need. His warm personality and ability to bring people together will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A service to celebrate Johnathan’s life will be held on April 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Lakeover Memorial Funeral Home, located at 1525 Beasley Rd., Jackson. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Johnathan are invited to join in honoring his memory and sharing stories of the joy he brought to their lives. Though we grieve the loss of Johnathan Edwards, we find comfort in the memories that will forever remain in our hearts. His legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
