Johnathan Edwards

February 17, 1960 — April 3, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Johnathan Edwards, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, on April 3, 2026, at the age of 66. Born in Utica, Mississippi, on February 17, 1960, Johnathan was the beloved son of Ann and Michael Edwards. His life, marked by service, love, and laughter, leaves an indelible legacy for all who had the privilege of knowing him. Johnathan was preceded in death by his dear sister, Janet Maxine Coleman, whose memory he held close to his heart. He is survived by his devoted wife, Alicia Edwards, whom he married in 1988, and their two loving children, Jordan Edwards and Robert Edwards. The joy of his life was further enriched by his five grandchildren, who adored their grandfather's playful spirit and boundless affection. A dedicated military veteran, Johnathan proudly served his country from 1980 to 1988, embodying the virtues of honor and courage. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career at Ford Motor Company, where he worked diligently for 12 years before retiring in 2007. His colleagues fondly remember Johnathan for his work ethic and his ability to bring warmth and humor to the workplace. Johnathan's faith was a guiding light in his life. As an active member of the Free Baptist Church, he found community and purpose, contributing his time and energy to those in need. Outside of his commitments, Johnathan was an avid fisher and took great joy in tending to his garden, where he found peace and solace in nature's embrace. Known for his quick wit and warm smile, Johnathan had a remarkable gift for brightening the lives of those around him. He carried a joke for every occasion, using humor to lift spirits and foster joy. His ability to connect with others was his true legacy—a testament to his deep compassion and love for humanity. We invite family and friends to join us in celebrating Johnathan's life at a service on April 11, 2026, at Lakeover Memorial Funeral Home, located at 1525 Beasley Rd., Jackson, MS. Together, we will honor a life well-lived and find comfort in shared memories. The Edwards family extends heartfelt gratitude for your prayers, support, and kindness during this time.
