It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Johnathan Briand, a cherished husband, devoted father, and beloved son, who left this world on April 24, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Johnathan was surrounded by the love of his family as he peacefully departed at the age of 37. Born on June 14, 1988, in Nashua, New Hampshire, Johnathan was the beloved son of Tammy Thompson and the late John M. Briand. His life was a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the depth of human kindness, marked by his unwavering commitment to his family, his community, and his passions. Johnathan's academic journey took him to the University of New Hampshire, where he earned a degree in Business, and later to the Rockingham Fire Academy in North Carolina, where he graduated with a degree in Fire 1 and 2 and Fire Science. His career as a firefighter EMT began in 2006, a role that he embraced with courage and dedication until his retirement in 2017. During his years of service, Johnathan touched countless lives, providing care and comfort in times of crisis. In October of 2019, Johnathan married the love of his life, Nicole Briand, and together they built a home filled with love and laughter. Their seven years of marriage were blessed with the birth of their son, Cooper, who was the light of Johnathan's life. A devoted family man, Johnathan cherished every moment spent with Nicole and Cooper, as well as with his brothers, Lucas and Alejandro, and his extended family, including many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. After retiring from the fire service, Johnathan pursued his entrepreneurial dreams by opening his own business, a venture that allowed him to channel his creativity and business acumen. Beyond his professional achievements, Johnathan was an avid fisherman and hunter, who found peace and joy in the great outdoors. He had a deep appreciation for art in all its forms, a passion that inspired those around him and added beauty to his world. Preceded in death by his father, John M. Briand, Johnathan's legacy of love and strength will continue to live on through his surviving family members, who will forever cherish his memory and his indomitable spirit. In keeping with Johnathan's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor and celebrate his remarkable life. Though the gathering will be intimate, the impact of Johnathan's life extends far beyond, touching the hearts of all who were privileged to know him. Johnathan Briand's journey through life was one of love, courage, and unwavering dedication. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we hold his memory close, grateful for the time we shared and the love he gave so freely. May he rest in eternal peace, his legacy forever etched in our hearts.
