John Lane

John, born on January 1, 1950, in Kermit, TX, passed away unexpectedly on October 7, 2026. A gentle soul with an infectious smile, John lived a life filled with love, laughter, shenanigans, and kindness. He was a beloved husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, and a cherished friend to many. John was the son of George and Theda, and he shared a close bond with his brother Mike. He leaves behind his second half, wife of 51 years, Becky. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Alexis and Austin. John was also a proud grandfather to Calvin and Rowan, who he took great pleasure in spoiling rotten. John had a passion for photography and several of his pieces were displayed in local galleries. He loved traveling and going on adventures with his family and friends, and often got lost on purpose to see what he could find. Known for his quiet calm and sense of humor, John was known for listening with a twinkle and a grin, ready for a good chuckle with whoever he was talking to. He will be deeply missed by many, and leaves behind a great hole in many hearts. John's life will be celebrated in a memorial celebration on December 8, 2026, allowing all of his family and friends to honor the extraordinary man he was. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in John's memory to the American Heart Association, located in Dallas, TX.
