John Wilton Moses JR

October 2, 1956 — July 8, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Wilton Moses Jr., a cherished father, grandfather, and friend. John departed this life on July 8, 2026, at Baptist South Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, dedication, and love. Born on October 2, 1956, in Nutbush, Tennessee, John was a beacon of kindness and an unwavering pillar of support to those who had the privilege of knowing him. John was the beloved son of the late John Wilton Moses Sr. and Sena A. Moses, and the dear brother of the late Walter Stuart Barton. He is survived by his two devoted sons, John Wilton Moses III and his wife Sharon, and Paul Stuart Moses and his wife Jessica. John was a proud and adoring grandfather to six grandchildren: William, Caroline, Ivey, Colby, Kennedi, and Rhett, who brought immense joy and pride to his life. John spent 30 rewarding years as a restaurant equipment technician, a career through which he demonstrated exceptional skill, reliability, and integrity. His colleagues remember him as a hardworking and dedicated professional, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. A man of deep community spirit, John was a passionate and active Boy Scout USA leader. His commitment to the Boy Scouts of America was a testament to his belief in nurturing the potential of young people. Even after his sons completed their scouting journeys, John continued to volunteer, participate, and lend his support in countless activities, leaving an indelible mark on the community he loved so dearly. In memory of John's generous spirit and dedication to youth development, the family kindly suggests that memorial donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America, an organization that was very dear to his heart. Though John's physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit will forever reside in the memories and hearts of those he touched. His legacy of service, love, and family will continue to inspire and guide us. John Wilton Moses Jr. will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
