With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John Wesley Clifton, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. John left this world peacefully on April 21, 2006, at the age of 33, surrounded by the love of his family and friends at his home in Pittsburg, Texas. He was born on March 2, 1973, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and from the moment he arrived, he filled the lives of those around him with warmth and kindness. John was the beloved son of the late Elmer "Judge" Clifton and Ruby Moore Clifton. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers, Alton Clifton, Randy Clifton, Milton Jorgensen, and his sister, Jean Denson. Despite these profound losses, John carried forward the spirit and love of his family with unwavering strength and grace. He is survived by his devoted wife, Terry Clifton, with whom he shared many precious years. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. John's legacy lives on through his children: sons Gary Clifton of Austin, Caston, and Dustin Clifton-LeBlanc of Austin; and his daughter Raven Posey, along with her husband Josh, of Pittsburg. His vibrant spirit and values will continue to be cherished and passed down through his five grandchildren: Hannah Neal, Bella Clifton, Joe Clifton-LeBlanc, Kyleigh Posey, Kollin Posey, and Kayden Posey, who adored their grandfather and will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. John is also survived by his brother Carl Clifton of Bonham; sisters Susan Perry and her husband Chris of Mt. Pleasant, and Nelda Moss of Omaha, who will all deeply miss their dear brother's loving presence. A proud patriot, John served his country with honor in the United States Army. His strength and resilience were admired by all who knew him, and he carried these qualities into every aspect of his life. John was also a dedicated member of the Church of God of Prophecy where he found solace and purpose, and he was cherished by his church community. His life will be celebrated at a service on April 24, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at the serene Crossroads Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects to a man who touched so many lives with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. John Wesley Clifton will be remembered as a beacon of love and kindness, a man who embraced life with open arms and a generous heart. He left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his spirit will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. He is now embraced in eternal peace, reunited with those he loved who have gone before him. His memory will forever be a blessing to his family and friends.
