John Wesley Clifton, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed peacefully from this life on April 21, 2026, at his home in Pittsburg, Texas. Born on March 2, 1973, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, John was a beacon of light and warmth to all who knew him. His departure has left a profound void in the hearts of his loved ones, but his legacy of love and kindness will forever endure. John was the cherished son of the late Elmer "Judge" Clifton and Ruby Moore Clifton. He was warmly welcomed into a large and loving family, with siblings who shared in the joys and challenges of life. Predeceased by his brothers Alton Clifton, Randy Clifton, Milton Jorgensen, and sister Jean Denson, John now joins them in eternal rest. Surviving John is his devoted wife, Terry Clifton, who stood by his side with unwavering love and support. Together, they built a family that became John's most treasured accomplishment. His sons, Gary Clifton of Austin and Caston & Dustin Clifton-LeBlanc of Austin, along with his daughter, Raven & Josh Posey of Pittsburg, carry forward the values and love he instilled in them. John was a proud grandfather to six adoring grandchildren: Hannah Neal, Bella Clifton, Joe Clifton-LeBlanc, Kyleigh Posey, Kollin Posey, and Kayden Posey. Each grandchild was a source of immense joy and pride, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His surviving siblings, brother Carl Clifton of Bonham and sisters Susan & Chris Perry and Nelda Moss of Omaha, were dear to him, and he held their bond in high esteem. John proudly served his country in the United States Army, a testament to his dedication and love for his nation. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy, where he found community and spiritual fulfillment. An avid fisherman, John never missed an opening day, relishing the tranquility and adventure the water offered. His vegetable garden was a labor of love, where he patiently nurtured his plants and generously shared his bountiful harvest of tomatoes with neighbors and friends, spreading joy and sustenance in equal measure. A service to honor and celebrate John's life will be held on April 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Crossroads Cemetery.
