In loving memory of John V. Carney III, who passed away peacefully at home on August 9, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on June 30, 1950, in Lawrence, John was the beloved son of John and Doris Carney.
John was a devoted husband to Elinore and a cherished father to his children, Scott, Lori Beth, and Brittany Jill. He was also a proud and adoring grandfather to four wonderful grandchildren who brought immense joy into his life.
A graduate of Methuen High School, John dedicated 40 years of his professional life to NCR, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment until his retirement. His career was interwoven with his sense of duty, a trait he carried from his time serving in the Navy from 1968 to 1972.
Beyond his professional achievements, John was an active and respected member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, where he served as an Elder. His faith and community service were central to his life, and he found great purpose and fulfillment in his spiritual journey and the relationships he nurtured within his congregation.
John had a passion for Disney World, a place where he created countless memories with his family. His love for his family was paramount, and he treasured every moment spent with them, whether it was embarking on magical adventures or simply enjoying their company at home.
In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his life and legacy. The family appreciates the understanding of all who wish to pay their respects.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in John's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that held a special place in his heart.
John V. Carney III will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His kind spirit, dedication, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
