Born on November 28, 1938, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, John was a beacon of kindness, warmth, and dedication to all who had the privilege of knowing him. John's life was a testament to service and love, both in his professional and personal endeavors. A proud graduate of McKeesport High School, he went on to serve his country with honor as a Military Police Officer in the United States Army. His time in the service molded him into a man of integrity and discipline, qualities he carried throughout his 40-year career in retail management. Known for his unwavering work ethic and friendly demeanor, John was a respected leader and colleague, leaving an indelible mark on all who worked alongside him. In 2006, John found the love of his life, Margaret, and they were married on July 15 of that year. Their union was a beautiful testament to love and companionship, marked by shared laughter, mutual respect, and countless cherished moments. It was in her loving arms that John peacefully passed, a testament to the profound bond they shared. John was not only a devoted husband but also a man of faith and community. As a dedicated member of the Goshen Baptist Church, he found joy and purpose in singing with the church choir and The Spotsylvanians Community Choir. His voice, both in song and spirit, uplifted those around him, reflecting his deep commitment to his faith and community. A man of simple pleasures, John found immense joy in working in his yard, a testament to his pride in his home and family. His neighbors often admired his meticulously kept garden, which was a reflection of his love for nature and beauty. John's kindness, caring nature, and friendliness made him a beloved figure in his community, and he will be remembered for the warmth he extended to everyone he met. John's family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Carriage Hill Health & Rehab for their compassionate care and support during his time there. Their dedication and kindness brought comfort to John and his family in his final days. As we celebrate John's life, we remember him as a man whose legacy is defined by love, service, and unwavering kindness. He leaves behind a world made brighter by his presence and a family who will forever cherish the memories they shared. John Stanchik will be dearly missed but never forgotten, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him.
