John Sauve

John Sauve, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on August 8, 2026, after many health complications. Born on December 10, 1963, in California, John was a man whose life was a vibrant tapestry of music, sports, and family devotion. John was the cherished son of Geraldine "Gerry" Sauve and the late Richard F. Sauve. His father's passing left a void that John filled with love and strength, qualities he carried into every aspect of his life. His family roots were deeply planted in West Brookfield, where his mother resides, and where John found solace and joy throughout his life. A proud graduate of Longmeadow High School, John embarked on a fulfilling career at Tyco Electronics. His dedication and work ethic were admired by colleagues and friends alike, reflecting the integrity and passion he brought to his professional life. John’s heart belonged to the world of sports and music. An ardent fan of the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia, he found rhythm and soul as a longtime drummer for the band The Wind. His love for sports was equally profound, as he enjoyed playing hockey and softball, and was a fervent supporter of the Red Sox, Patriots, Vikings, and Blackhawks. His enthusiasm also extended to the thrilling world of Formula 1 racing. John is survived by his loving brother, Rick Sauve, and sister-in-law, Linda, of West Suffield, CT. Together with his mother, Gerry, they grieve the loss of a son and brother who was a source of boundless energy, humor, and kindness. A celebration of John’s life will be held on August 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Forastiere Smith Funeral and Cremation, located at 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. Family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched are invited to honor his memory and celebrate the legacy he leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, an organization close to his heart. Contributions will support their ongoing efforts in the fight against cancer. John Sauve will be remembered for his infectious smile, his love for music, his passion for sports, and the warmth he brought into every room he entered. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
