John Ruiz Jr
December 8, 1950 — May 15, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and a profound sense of loss that we announce the peaceful passing of John Ruiz Jr, cherished husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, and beloved friend to many. John departed this world on May 15, 2026, at the age of 75, in the comforting surroundings of his home in Safford, Arizona.
Born on December 8, 1950, in the quaint town of Safford, John was the beloved son of John and Marcos Ruiz, who instilled in him the values of kindness, generosity, and hard work. These values became the cornerstone of his life and were evident in the many roles he embraced throughout his journey.
John's life was a testament to dedication and service. After graduating from St. David High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years. Following his honorable service, he pursued further education at ITT Tech, which paved the way for a career marked by versatility and commitment. He worked in various capacities, including at a friend's electronic repair shop, in the local mines, and ultimately as a contractor for the US government at Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista, AZ. His professional journey was one of resilience and adaptability, and he retired with immense respect from his peers and colleagues.
A man of faith and steadfast devotion, John was a member of the Catholic Church for over 50 years, his faith guiding him through life's many chapters. It was a faith he shared with his beloved wife, Monica Ruiz, whom he married in June of 1975. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, celebrating 39 beautiful years of marriage.
John's legacy lives on through his surviving family: his dear wife Monica, his sons David and Andrew Ruiz, and his five treasured grandchildren, who were the light of his life. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them, often captivating them with his guitar skills and delightful stories that never failed to bring smiles and laughter.
Preceded in death by his parents and his older son, John J. Ruiz, John now rests in eternal peace, reunited with those he dearly missed.
A private funeral service to honor John's life will be held on May 23, 2026, at 8:00 AM at the family home. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out during this time of mourning, offering comfort and support.
As we remember John, let us celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and a legacy of kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Rest in peace, dear John. Your spirit will forever be a guiding light in our hearts.
