It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Paul Trujillo, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. John passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. He was surrounded by family and enveloped in love. Born on April 2, 1949, in Sydney, Nebraska, John was the cherished son of Eutimio Trujillo and Jennie Hernandez. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Julie Trujillo, and his brothers Danny and Ray Trujillo. John's memory will forever be cherished by his surviving family members, including his sons Paul Trujillo (Kayla Gallegos), Jeremiah Gallegos, and Christian Vigil; his daughters Jaymee Trujillo (Gilbert Maes), Veronica Pantoya-Medina (Chad Medina), and Julie Guiest (Richard Geist); and his brothers James and Michael Trujillo. He is also remembered fondly by his sisters Angela Bransford (Derrick Stevens), Annette Pantoya (Angel Pantoya), Paula Wakefield, Rosland Rico (Richard Rico), and Jerri Vargas (Tom Vargas). John was a man whose presence could light up any room. His humor and outgoing nature made him a joy to be around, and his down-to-earth personality endeared him to many. He delighted in the simple pleasures of life, whether sitting outside and taking in the beauty of everyday scenery or spending precious time with his children and grandchildren. John's love for the great outdoors was evident in his passion for camping and fishing, activities that brought him great joy and serenity. Family was the cornerstone of John's life, and he found immense happiness in the company of his loved ones. His grandchildren, including Anthony Maes, Amaree Maes, Timothy Maes, Michaela Leyba, Michael Leyba, Justin Lyman, and Emily Geist, were his pride and joy, and he relished every moment spent with them. John leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and countless cherished memories. His ability to find joy in life's simplest moments and his unwavering dedication to his family serve as a testament to a life well-lived. A celebration of John's life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to come together to honor his memory and share stories of the joy he brought to their lives. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in John's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of generosity and love for his community. John Paul Trujillo's life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and family. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
