It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Newsome Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this world on June 3, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. Born on November 16, 1959, in Vineland, New Jersey, John was a man whose vibrant spirit touched all who knew him. John was the cherished son of Mary Jackson and Greg Newsome. He grew up in Vineland, where he attended Vineland High School. Though he did not pursue formal higher education, John's work ethic and determination were evident in his long and dedicated career. He spent 30 years as a tractor-truck driver for Montnelli Trucking, where he was known not only for his professionalism but also for his unwavering commitment and loyalty. On May 19, 1972, John married the love of his life, Rose. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, spanning over 50 beautiful years. Together, John and Mary built a life filled with love, laughter, and family. John is survived by his loving wife Rose, his son John Newsome, and his grandson Johnnie Newsome Jr. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, a testament to the vibrant legacy he built with Rose. John found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved working with his hands and was a magician with tools, always ready to fix, build, or create. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he relished every moment spent playing with them and making memories. Known for his infectious humor, John was the life of every party, bringing laughter and joy wherever he went. His penchant for wearing brightly colored outfits was just one of the many ways he brightened the lives of those around him. An active member of the famous Calvary Chapel in Vineland, NJ, John lived a life of faith and service. His faith community was an important part of his life, and he was known for his warm smile and welcoming demeanor, making everyone feel at home. John was a man who lit up every room he entered, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. He encouraged others to embrace life fully, always promoting positivity and joy. His presence was a gift, and his absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him. In honor of John's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who wish to honor John's memory consider making a donation to a charity of their choice or simply take a moment to share a smile or a joke with someone else, as John would have done. As we say goodbye to John, we remember him as a beacon of light and love. May his spirit of joy and laughter continue to inspire us all.
